The Northville First Care January Newsletter heralds in a new year with numerous possibilities! This edition of the news provides information about school closings, new flooring and Hospitality Week.
Northville First Care and the First United Methodist Church of Northville are sometimes compelled to take on a mission of love, help and hope. This year we have reached out the the United Methodist Temple Day School in Port Arthur, Texas. The entire community was devastated by Hurricane Harvey and everything in the daycare from the waist down was destroyed, even the walls! (Example picture below.) We are working to purchase the toy shelves, art easels and sensory tables that are on their wish list as they work to get back on their feet. If you would like to help, please consider donating money to "purchase" a puzzle piece for our Giving Tree, located in the lobby by the daycare hallway on the main floor. The puzzle pieces are all different amounts and once you purchase a piece, write your name on it and attach it to the tree. When all the pieces are purchased we will light our Star of Hope at the top of the tree to celebrate.
Please visit the United Methodist Temple facebook page to learn more about this community and what they are going through:
Holy Week Labyrinth Walk
You are invited to join us for an open Labyrinth walk during Holy Week to prepare your heart, soul and mind for the Joy of Easter. Labyrinth guides will be present to instruct and assist. No experience needed! What is a Labyrinth?
To walk the labyrinth is to touch God and let God touch us
